I’m Kate Hasted, a textile artist and creative therapeutic practitioner based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I specialise in printed textiles with a focus on water-based marbling techniques. With over twenty years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of creating original designs and artworks for fashion houses, galleries, and individual collectors. From selling exclusive collections to top New York fashion labels to founding my own brand in 2011—featuring silk scarves, jewellery, cushions, and artworks—my work is known for its vibrant colour, fluid patterns, and innovative processes. I’ve exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, including Japan, where I demonstrated my marbled jewellery and showcased my designs in major department stores.

My creative process revolves around the dynamic beauty of marbling on water, where colours and patterns emerge and transform spontaneously. Combining traditional methods with digital design, I’m also exploring more sustainable practices. In 2023, I completed a Natural Dyeing course at Ditchling Museum of Art, which has deepened my passion for natural dyes, eco printing, and growing my own plants to create unique, nature-inspired textiles. Alongside my artistic practice, I run marbling and botanical printing workshops across Kent and am a qualified Arts Counsellor, integrating creativity and wellbeing through my work with the Brain and Spine Foundation’s Neuro Creatives project.
