Kate Hasted is a textile print designer specialising in water surface printing techniques to create striking patterns for artwork, interiors and fashion accessories.
After graduating in 2002 with a degree in Printed Textiles, Kate was invited to work with a London agent who sold exclusively to New York fashion houses for inspiration, menswear and womenswear. Creating collections for international fashion houses for 14 years, Kate sold her designs to many top designers including Donna Karen, DKNY, Calvin Klein, DVF, Banana Republic, Armani XS, GAP Kids, Rebecca Minkoff, Zac Posen, Henri Bendel and Tory Birch.
In 2011 Kate launched her own fashion accessories range combining printing techniques with digital repeat design to create striking textile jewellery, scarves and cushions. Since then her accessories and artwork have been exhibited in galleries and events, both in the UK and internationally. She has worked with many prestigious clients such as The Guildhall Art Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, who in 2016 commissioned her to create jewellery for their Picasso Portraits exhibition shop.
Over the past eighteen months Kate has been developing larger scale textile artworks experimenting with pattern and form through printing on water. During 2018 Kate completed commissions for private clients and exhibited new artworks with the ArtSpring Gallery in Tonbridge, Pure Arts Autumn Exhibition in Battle and the TWells Gallery in Tunbridge Wells.
The 2019 collection explores two techniques onto silk and cotton using a bright colour palette and repeat design.
